The Snow Child by Eowyn Ivey
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I read this book a little while ago. It is a story that I will remember and read again at a later date.
A heart rendering read about a couple who longed for a child of their own.
This book was a delight to read, it was descriptive, the story flowed. It gave you the sense of isolation - living in the wilderness and coldness.
An excellent read.

Hello, I'm Susan - staff nurse by day, book worm by night (well, depending on my shifts). I have a passion for anything booky and will read almost anything. I love paranormal, romance, vampire, history, chick reads and anything else I can find. My kindle goes everywhere with me, but I am also known to have a good rummage through charity shops to find a good book.

Jo Hogarth - The Miska Papers
The Miska Papers by Jo Hogarth
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This is by far one of the best books I have read in a while. It's a real gem of a story.
The story jumps from Dagny who is a modern day girl, who finds a diary that was written by Miska - a gypsy girl who's father is Vlad the Impaler. Once Dagny starts reading the diary, strange things start to happen. I got totally engrossed with this story. At the end of each chapter I was craving for more.
The story is very well written and descriptive. The characters are well thought out. The plot is intelligent, flows and is easy to follow.
Praise to Jo Hogarth - I hope there is a follow up to this book.
