Donovan is a twelve year old
boy, who one day whilst dreaming of growing up and going off fishing and
working with the men, his world is shattered - his village is attacked by
barbarians. The men are all killed and the women and children are sold as
slaves.
This is a story of how
Donovan and his friends escape their captors, and start living a life in the
woods with the wood elves. Through intense training with the elf leader Alayna,
Donovan and his friends gain respect from the wood elves princess, Brandela.
This story has adventure,
grief and romance, it was a joy to read, and it had me hooked from the first
chapter. It was descriptive and the story held my attention, as all I wanted to
know was if all would be ok for Donovan and Brandela. However, it was slow at
times.
